Vanderbilt Baseball wasted no time to make the Texas Longhorns pay for their errors in the opening game of the last day of the 2023 College Baseball Showdown at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. 

The Commodores took advantage of four errors in the second inning, including three that helped load the bases for catcher Alan Espinal, who hit an opposite field grand slam home run to give Vanderbilt and early 5-0 lead. 

Vanderbilt didn’t stop scoring, adding three more runs at the first and seeing 12 batters come to the plate. 

Vanderbilt continued to pile on runs after scoring 11 on Saturday in their 11-9 win over Oklahoma State. On Friday, Vanderbilt’s offense struggled, losing 11-4 to TCU. 

But Sunday was a different day.
